Yasmeen’s Food Store has the following objectives:

1. Serve the community of Tri-City area and the surrounding cities, and become a destination for Mediterranean and specialty food.
2. Establish a regular customer base and increase the number of new customers based on word of mouth referrals.
3. Establish good customer relations, super services, and a high rate of satisfaction.
5. Add more services to provide a comprehensive Mediterranean products; so that, there is no need for customers to drive to Dearborn to get the same stuff.
4. Make an increase of 10-15% in sales yearly.

Mission

Yasmeen’s Mediterranean Food Store has a mission of providing Tri-City area Mediterranean specialty groceries, fresh healthy Lebanese prepared food at the deli, be an educational resource and add to the cultural diversity to Saginaw community. All the products have a reasonable prices that anyone can provide.

Vision

1. Add a Mediterranean bakery for fresh pita bread.

2. Expand the business, add Halal meat section “Muslims kind of meat”, and open a Mediterranean vegetable section.

3. Add more menu items to the deli.

4. Increase the Hoka “smoking” area.

Keys to Success

Products and Services: A variety of high quality food is offered at the store and the deli serve the food that made from daily fresh vegetables and pita bread.

Customers Reputation: Most of the customers who visit the store or the deli come again and suggest them to their friends and relatives which make the store talk of the town.

Outstanding customer service: There are two managers “Dr. Habib and his wife” and everyday there will be one of them at the store; they are very friendly and welcoming anyone to maintain customers’ high level of satisfaction.

Customer Convenience: The store has most of the Mediterranean food and stuff that customers can find easily; however, the store also provide an option of adding more items/products that customers cannot find there. The new items can be provided within a week.

Store Location: Since the location is an important key to success in the world of business, the store is located on a main road in Saginaw which is Bay Road. The location is easy to access and it has a big parking lot.

Company Ownership

YASMEEN’S Mediterranean Foods is a limited liability Corporation owned by Dr. Habib Kheil and his Wife, Mrs. Amal Kheil; both are mathematics teachers at Delta College. They started their business three years ago in June of 2006. The store will sell all kinds of Middle Eastern foods, canned, fresh, refrigerated, breads and sweets also some seasonal specialty vegetables and fruits. Also, it has a deli that called Huba’s Hut Deli.

YASMEEN’S Mediterranean Foods, LLC, established in June 2006 by Amal and Habib Kheil. Yasmeen’s is a newly established Middle Eastern grocery store and bakery, located at 3545 Bay Road in Saginaw Township, Michigan, in the front section of the Lyren Square. It is about 4000 square feet with a small office, storage area, and room for possible future deli/bakery. There are plenty of parking spaces in the front. The store operates seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am till 8:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am till 6:00 pm.

The store has a variety of foods that serve many shoppers from Saginaw and its surrounding area. Turkish coffee, green tea, rice, olive oil, bean, dates, meat, chicken, fish, shrimp, and many different kinds of spices are some of what you can find at Yasmeen’s store. In addition, it has a deli which is called Huba’s Hut located at the back corner of the store. The deli makes Lebanese food such as Fattoush and Tabouli salads, Baba Ghanouj and Hummus dips, many different pita wraps such as Shawrma and Falafil, and various kinds of sandwiches. The deli food is considered healthy since it is all made from fresh vegetables and pita wraps. You can either eat inside Yasmeen’s store, where they have some tables in front of the deli and enjoy the food with Arabic music, or you might take your food to go.

The prices for both the deli and the store are reasonable especially when you know that Yasmeen’s store saves you a lot of gas and time that you might spend if you go to Flint or Dearborn to get the same food.

Mr. Kheil, professor of Mathematics, is performing all primary management activities and decision-making, assisted by Mrs. Kheil, also a Mathematics teacher. Both have post graduate degrees, well traveled around the world and very familiar with the needs and demands of such a business.
